WHAT LENGTH OF A LESSON WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?
We understand that different learners have varying needs and schedules. To provide the most suitable lesson length for your specific situation, we offer the following recommendations:
For very young learners, we usually suggest 30-minute lessons. These condensed sessions are designed to provide focused instruction and can be a great starting point for young beginners.
For learners aged 6 to 9, we generally recommend 45-minute lessons. This duration allows for more comprehensive instruction, enabling students to delve deeper into their musical studies and make steady progress in their learning journey.
For learners aged 10 and above, we highly recommend 60-minute lessons to you truly maximise the benefits of your lessons and have ample time for focused learning and exploration. This duration provides sufficient time for comprehensive instruction, practice, and addressing any questions you may have. It allows for a more immersive experience and fosters accelerated growth and mastery in your musical pursuits.
Ultimately, the choice of lesson length depends on you, your goals, availability, and level of commitment. We are here to guide you and provide recommendations based on your unique needs and aspirations.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I PRACTISE?
Consistency is the key to success, and practice is what makes progress permanent. We highly recommend practicing every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Set aside a consistent time each day for practice and make it a priority in your routine. By spreading out your practice throughout the week, you give yourself time to absorb and internalise the concepts taught in lessons. This approach allows for better retention and overall improvement in your musical abilities. Remember, the duration of your practice sessions is less important than the consistency and quality of your practice.
Another essential aspect of effective practice is breaking down your practice into sections. Instead of tackling an entire piece, song or exercise at once, start with a short section and focus on mastering it before moving on to the next section.
Practice should be approached with patience, focus, and dedication. Embrace regular practice, break it down into manageable sections, and witness your musical skills flourish.
SHOULD I HAVE LESSONS EVERY WEEK?
We strongly recommend taking lessons on a regular basis to maximise your progress and success. Whether you choose to have weekly or biweekly lessons will depend on your availability and schedule. Consistency is the key to achieving your musical goals.
